If you have attended an AP course with us you will remember us discussing the Container Checks website (containerchecks.maf.govt.nz). During the course we mention that you need only enter details for containers found with contamination (check your ‘See – Contain – Report’ chart for confirmation). Work has started, with MPI, on upgrading the system to make it possible for all transitional facilities to be able to capture details for ALL containers.
Ultimately, MPI would like to see 100% container reporting, as it will address the issue of containers going to unauthorised sites that don’t have appropriate biosecurity controls.
The updates and upgrades to the website should be completed by the end of June 2021, at which stage you will be able to enter all of your containers instead of just the contaminated ones.
